Abstract: Each culture has its own version of a calendar. Although globalization offers a variety of connections, especially through the internet and the digital world, traditional forms, including the lunar calendar, still find their place in different cultures around the world. This article uses a number of examples to demonstrate different forms of lunar and lunisolar calendars and their connection to specific events, rituals and everyday life.
